It had all the things we wanted for a sneaky couple (baby free get away) this place doesn't have a spa, is too far from Hastings street & bike hire is expensive (was cheaper to hire a scooter down the road for a whole day). Door handle fell off in the pool toilet was locked inside for a while. No rain forest view from our room as we requested... Pretty disappointed. We choose Peppers thinking it might be a bit more extravagant and for the rain forest view but would have preferred to just stick with the Mantra. The lack of a bath and spa is definitely a deal breaker (especially in winter)..

The gardens and buildings are nicely maintained and tranquil. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Although it's only a short walk down the hill to Hastings Street we happened upon the golf cart a couple of times and appreciated the ride. All up we thought it was really good value.
